In plain English: This site sets nothing optional unless you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. Say no (or say nothing) and no analytics run. You can change your mind any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Cookies are small pieces of data a website saves in your browser. Websites can also save data in your browser's "local storage", which works in a similar way. This policy covers both — everything drivesidekick.uk stores on your device, and why.
These are the only things we store without asking. They remember choices you made yourself, so we don't keep asking:
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| dsk_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we don't ask you on every page | Until you clear your browser data |
| dsk_ec_dismissed_at | On route pages, remembers that you said "No thanks" to route emails, so we don't offer them again for 30 days | Until you clear your browser data (we ignore it after 30 days) |
| dsk_ec_subscribed | Remembers that you signed up for route emails, so we don't offer them again | Until you clear your browser data |
| dsk_ec_shown | Stops the route emails offer appearing more than once per visit | Until you close the browser tab |
When the route emails sign-up offer appears, your browser also loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that sign-ups come from a person, not a bot. Cloudflare says Turnstile doesn't use cookies to track you or show you ads.
These are only set after you click "Accept". They help us see how the site is used — which pages people read and which buttons they click — via Mixpanel, our analytics provider. Analytics data is sent to Mixpanel's EU servers.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| dsk_uid | A random ID for your browser, so repeat visits count as one visitor. It contains no personal details. | Until you withdraw consent or clear your browser data |
| dsk_utms | Remembers which link or campaign brought you to the site | Until you withdraw consent or clear your browser data |
| __mpq_* (Mixpanel) | Mixpanel's own storage for analytics and session replay | Up to 1 year; removed if you withdraw consent |
If you reject analytics, or withdraw consent later, we delete all of the above from your browser and nothing new is set.
Click Cookie settings — it's also in the footer of every page. The banner will reopen and you can accept or reject again. Rejecting after accepting removes all analytics storage from your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
How we handle personal data more generally — including your rights — is covered in our Privacy Policy. Questions: hello@drivesidekick.uk
